Ever since the first photo I saw of this place I knew it was a spot Id like to see myself. A few more years of randomly seeing photos here or there and I finally decided to find out what this place was called. Horseshoe Bend, OK.. Page, Arizona, hmmm.. Wheres that? Right on the border of Arizona and Utah, directly north of Flagstaff. Not the most convenient place to just stop through, but I finally found myself close enough that it was time to regard this beauty. Super glad I did.
Websites suggested morning or mid-day for the best viewing experience. Although I knew the viewpoint faced directly west, I figured Id chance it with some sunset shots and if they didn’t work out I could return in the morning. I strolled out with my 20mm Tamron 2.8 and quickly realized that wasnt going to be wide enough for the shot I wanted. So I resorted to taking multiple shots and stitching them together in photoshop. I was pretty pleased with the results of the two photos here. Somewhat similar but very different at the same time. Taken probably 20 min apart from each other. I really like the sun flare and clearly identifiable figure on the right in the first photo. But the framing and more unique angle of #2 really draw me in as well.
Hope you enjoy them as well, and they encourage you to check out this place for yourself.
